Hot dogs for Frederickson members
With about 200 hot dogs served, SPEEA members in Frederickson enjoyed lunch with their co-workers. Frederickson Council
Rep Mike Arrington hosted the BBQ with help from Doug Brazeal, second shift Council Rep for Auburn/Frederickson,
and Jimmie Mathis, SPEEA treasurer. Their hot dog feed also included SPEEA visibility items and dessert (cookies).
Contract negotiations resume
for Wichita engineers
WICHITA – Negotiations resumed Aug. 20 between SPEEA and Spirit AeroSystems to negotiate a new
contract for the nearly 1,000 employees in the
Wichita Engineering Unit ( WEU).
As talks reopened, the number of full, dues pay-
ing members hit a new high of 73% of represent-
ed employees. An information campaign about
negotiations along with membership outreach is
credited for the increase. Only full, dues-paying
members can vote on contract offers.
After making progress during pre-negotiations
and at Main Table in June, negotiations broke
for the summer.
The current WEU contract expires Dec. 1. For
more news, go to www.speea.org.
