Results for IFPTE Northwest VP
Congratulations to Ryan Rule and Joel Funfar, the top vote-getters for the two Northwest SPEEA-Area IFPTE vice president seats. The Northwest Tellers validated and counted ballots May 27.
Donna Lehane ran unopposed for Midwest SPEEA-Area IFPTE vice president.
The SPEEA-Area IFPTE vice presidents will be formally elected to three-year terms by delegates
at the IFPTE triennial convention later this month. The VPs are responsible for communicating
SPEEA’s concerns and priorities to the IFPTE Executive Council, which includes vice presidents
from other regions.
Spirit Fab division
in Wichita for sale
WICHITA – According to recent news reports, Spirit AeroSystems intends to sell its fabrication division in Wichita.
SPEEA leaders have been contacted because it
affects SPEEA-represented employees.
If a sale goes through, SPEEA leaders and staff
expect to have effects bargaining and negotiations on behalf of the represented employees.
Boeing sold its commercial division in Wichita to
Onex in 2005, which became Spirit AeroSystems.
WTPU and WEU
Based on market review per the SPEEA- Spirit AeroSystems contracts, salary raise pools for 2015 are set. The raise effective
date is July 10, with increases reflected in the
July 30 paycheck.
• Wichita Technical and Professional Unit
(WTPU) – The salary adjustment funds
are set at 3.18% with 0.5% retained for
out-of-sequence raises. The 0.18% was
added to the 2015 salary fund due to
some 2014 out-of-sequence funds going
unspent. WTPU-represented employees
are eligible if they are on the active payroll
as of April 3, or on Leave of Absence.
• Wichita Engineering Unit (WEU) – The
salary adjustment funds are set at 3.5%
with 0.5% retained for out-of-sequence
raises. WEU-represented employees are eligible if they are on the active payroll as of
Feb. 24, or on Leave of Absence.
SPEEA will post salary charts online at www.
speea.org in a password protected site for members when the salary adjustment data becomes
